Why would a Florist Refuse A Floral Order? |
|||||
| The flower shop phone rings and an order is taken for a $30 bouquet to be delivered to Mrs. Jones. The look on Mrs. Jones' face as the door opened to receive the special delivery would make any florist thankful she/he decided to be in the floral industry. | |||||
| Two or three days later the phone rings and it is Mrs. Jones. She cannot believe her friend out of town paid $60 for the bouquet. As a dedicated florist, she/he finds the order and explains to Mrs. Jones that the order was for a $30 bouquet and it came through ------------------ ---------------- company and since the order was placed by Mrs. Jones' friend to the other company, she would need to have her friend contact the credit card company. | |||||
| The florist asks Mrs. Jones if she could call and explain the problem to the friend. Mrs. Jones does not want to upset her friend and decides to just do nothing. | |||||
| Has Miss/Mr Florist lost a customer? No - like any other concerned retail merchant, she arranges a $60 bouquet, redelivers and decides to never take an order from this company or "skimmer" again. | |||||
| Yes - more and more florists are actually refusing orders as in the long run, this type of sale is more harmful to a business than good. | |||||
