Information that helps Local Retail |
||||
| Since the beginning of our company, I
have been very surprised over the amount of people needing information
from someone locally which could help the local merchants sell more
products. Some examples are: "I am trying to find someone who carries pewter made by "Carsons States Metal Co." Freeport, Pa. Can you help me" "Do you carry a line of candles with the name of keepers of light/a cheerfulgrin? It says on the candle from Elmer,NJ. If not, do you know where I can find this candle anywhere? Thank you!" "I have been trying to remember a great shop I was in while visiting Shelby. The shop has coffee, gifts and a nice book section in the front. Can you help me? I want to buy a particular book from them." There is more, but enough to help show the importance of open communication between internet visitors and Chamber of Commerce. Certainly the Chamber cannot possibly know every brand of pewter and candle but having on hand a list of shop names and numbers or email addresses to specialty shops is a must. Also, having a Chamber email address is very important. Many of our internet visitors are not in the US and emailing is not only the least expensive way to request information about your community but also at hours which the Chamber is open. Make a list of your internet requests to publish (without names of course) to show another way your Chamber works to promote retail. |
